Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis

Systematic Review

Scientific evidence is the foundation for sound decision-making in clinical trial development and medical device manufacturing, whether organizations are investigating a new therapeutic area, seeking knowledge for a particular disease state, launching a new drug, or managing a medical device through its lifecycle. Reviewing published articles and extracting and analyzing vast amounts of medical data from these studies is a daunting task.

Systematic reviews are a scientific cornerstone for understanding large quantities of data from a broad array of sources. Systematic reviews:

  • Identify and synthesize all the current and best scientific evidence on a clinical question
  • Are reproducible, objective, and transparent and are protected by bias-control procedures
  • Gain a complete overview of the medical landscape of interest
  • Provide scientific support for product development and commercialization strategies
  • Determine whether and where more evidence is required

UBC meta-analysts are skilled at searching electronic and printed bibliographies to locate all relevant published studies, review articles, and abstracts. We also utilize MetaHub®, UBC's proprietary data repository containing over 7,000 studies representing more than 6 million patients.

UBC's scientific methodology and expertise has been cultivated over 14 years and more than 300 systematic literature reviews. Our team works with client project teams to define clinical questions, formulate protocols to answer clinical questions, and transform extracted information into credible, documented evidence.
