Services
Validated Scale Translations, Acquisition & Distribution
UBC provides a range of services to support use of clinician-rated and patient-reported scales in clinical research. UBC can identify appropriate scale versions and translations, locate copyright holders or licensed distributors, acquire and distribute scales including manuals and scoring sheets to sites, and convert scales to electronic documents organizing documents by visit, by rater, or by subject on our validated website.
We locate commercially available scale translations and use proven translation methodology to translate scales and instruments into any language. UBC translation processes follow the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research Principles of Good Practice for translation and validation. Comprehensive translation services can include psychometric and cultural validation programs in conjunction with established research groups.
CRA & Study Personnel Training
UBC provides comprehensive training of Clinical Research Associates (CRAs) and other study personnel prior to the launch of a clinical trial. We focus our curricula on identifying likely areas of documentation error. UBC develops a custom curriculum based on an analysis of the protocol, CRF and study endpoints. Our CRA training is designed to maximize the reliability and efficiency of study sites and to facilitate the onsite resolution of study errors.
