Economic Studies

UBC scientists are experts in designing and implementing health economics studies in conjunction with clinical development programs. Our continuing efforts to meet the challenges faced by our clients has lead us to explore innovative solutions to research problems including bringing discrete event simulation (DES) to the health economics industry. Our services include:

  • Study designs based on decision and simulation models
  • Retrospective studies of primary care databases and registries
  • Modeling: applying sophisticated modeling techniques such as Monte Carlo simulation, bootstrapping, Bayesian analysis, and analysis and advanced modeling methods such as Discrete Event Simulation (DES)
  • Data collection: protocol preparation, form design, site personnel training, quality control, study monitoring, and implementation
  • Analysis: cost-effectiveness, cost utility, budget impact, cost of illness, risk/benefit and meta-analyses
  • Extension of findings: modeling to project trial to new scenarios

Prelaunch & Post-Marketing Product Support
