Kathleen W. Wyrwich, PhD, is a Senior Research Leader with United BioSource Corporation in Bethesda, MD. Dr. Wyrwich has over 15 years experience in designing and conducting studies involving patient-reported and other health outcomes development and assessment, health services research, psychometrics and primary care research. Her principal research interest is in the development and application of methodologies to study change in health outcomes and the determination of relevant thresholds that identify important outcome changes over time. She has designed and conducted studies to better understand and evaluate health outcomes of medical treatment for cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, metabolic syndrome, pain, mental health disorders, human immunodeficiency virus disease, oncology, gynecologic diseases, endometriosis, Alzheimer's disease and stroke.

Dr. Wyrwich completed her PhD in health services research at Saint Louis University in 1999. She has over 60 publications in journals such as Quality of Life Research, Journal of Clinical Epidemiology, Journal of General Internal Medicine and Medical Care, and book chapters on quality of life and health status assessment. She is a member of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research and serves on the Board of Directors for the International Society for Quality of Life Research.
