Teresa Wilcox, PhD, participates in the design, analysis and interpretation of studies in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR). She works with regional HEOR teams to support the dissemination of HEOR information to the health care payer and employer segments. With experience in a variety of therapeutic areas, she has focused extensively on respiratory conditions.

Before joining UBC, Dr. Wilcox worked for ten years as a pharmacist in a 1,000-bed teaching hospital pharmacy with responsibilities that included drug usage evaluation, adverse drug event monitoring, formulary assessment and investigational drug service. She also brings 12 years of experience working for GlaxoSmithKline, where she initially was part of the International Pharmacoeconomic Group in London. In this role, she focused on measuring quality of life and economic endpoints. Additionally, she held the positions of Senior Pharmacoeconomic Scientist and Senior Regional Medical Scientist, providing medical information to clinicians, developing disease management guidelines/algorithms and serving as a liaison between research and development initiatives.

Widely published in peer-reviewed journals, Dr. Wilcox has presented her work at major professional clinical conferences. She has been an invited lecturer at the University of California San Diego, The Ohio State University, Ohio Northern University and the University of Maryland, among others.

Dr. Wilcox received her PhD from The Ohio State University with an emphasis in health outcomes and epidemiology.
