David P. Walling, PhD, was Vice President of Clinical Services for Psychiatric Management Resources prior to founding Collaborative NeuroScience Network. Before that, he was Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
Dr. Walling's research interests include the assessment of quality of life in severe mental illness, the role of psychologists in treating the mentally ill, post-traumatic stress disorder following natural disasters and the heritability of mental illness. His research has been presented at numerous international meetings and has been published in such journals as the Psychiatric Genetics, American Journal of Psychiatry, Mental Health Services Research, and Psychiatric Services. Dr. Walling has also authored/co-authored 50 abstracts and 16 publications and lectured at several universities on various mental health topics.
Dr. Walling serves as the Principal Investigator in over 40 clinical trials with an emphasis on schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and depression. He has also served as the Sub-Investigator in 19 studies. Over the past 15 years, Dr. Walling has conducted numerous phase I through III trials. He has also served as a consultant to pharmaceutical companies for protocol development and has conducted numerous rater-training programs.
He received his training in Counseling Psychology at the University of Southern California and completed his psychology internship at the University of Texas Medical Branch.
