Catherine Spear provides strategic leadership by working with UBC management to establish and implement long-range training and education goals, strategies, plans and policies.
Spear began her career as a marketing analyst with Merck & Co., then spent several years in business development with various healthcare companies. At Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, she honed her strategic marketing skills during her eight-year tenure there. Later, she headed the sales and marketing effort at a Philadelphia-based CRO.
In 2003, Ms. Spear joined PharmaStar, a leader in training and education services for clinical trials; in 2004, PharmaStar was acquired by UBC.
She holds a B.A. in Biology from Brown University and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
