Matthew W. Reynolds
Matthew W. Reynolds, PhD, is the Managing Director of Epidemiology and Database Services for UBC's Center for Health Economics, Epidemiology, and Science Policy (CHEP). Dr. Reynolds oversees epidemiology, risk management, and safety projects at UBC. Prior to joining UBC, Dr. Reynolds was Senior Director of Risk Management and Safety Services at MetaWorks, Inc, which was acquired by UBC in January 2006. Dr. Reynolds' extensive background in epidemiology also includes prior positions with AstraZeneca as associate director of cardiovascular epidemiology, Pharmacia Corporation (formerly Searle Pharmaceutical) as a pharmacoepidemiologist and senior analyst, as well as numerous assignments for the School of Medicine at the University of Maryland (Baltimore). As a pharmacoepidemiologist at Pharmacia and AstraZeneca Dr. Reynolds designed protocols for a variety of epidemiology studies that spanned the spectrum of diseases in patient populations, their risk factors, and the effectiveness and safety of those treatments. Dr. Reynolds has led and published numerous evidence-based medicine projects, including full systematic literature reviews, meta-analyses, and individual patient database analyses.
