Dennis A. Revicki, PhD, has over 25 years of experience in designing and conducting studies involving health-related quality of life (HRQL) assessment, economic evaluation, health services research, psychometrics and primary care research. His primary research interest is in studying health outcomes, including applications of health-status assessment and health-utility measures in clinical trials and outcomes research. He also focuses on mental health services research.

He has designed and conducted HRQL studies to evaluate outcomes of medical treatment in a wide variety of therapeutic areas for private industry and government agencies. He has been the principal investigator on several cost-effectiveness studies for the pharmaceutical industry comparing treatments for a wide variety of medical conditions.

Dr. Revicki has directed research and evaluation projects at Battelle, Veterans Administration Health Services Research and Development Service, East Carolina University School of Medicine and the University of North Carolina Department of Psychiatry and School of Education.

He holds faculty appointments in the Department of Health Policy and Administration, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the Department of Psychiatry, Georgetown University Medical Center. Dr. Revicki has over 270 publications in journals such as Journal of the American Medical Association, The Lancet, British Medical Journal, Archives of General Psychiatry, PharmacoEconomics, and Quality of Life Research and more than 25 book chapters on health status assessment and pharmacoeconomics.

Dr. Revicki completed his graduate work in quantitative psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1981.
