Krista Payne, MEd, is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation and conduct of health economic-related prospective and observational studies.
Since joining Caro Research (acquired in 2007 by UBC) in January 1996 as a Project Manager, Ms. Payne has focused her pharmacoeconomic research and management efforts on projects in a variety of therapeutic areas, including Alzheimer’s disease, stroke and hypertension. In addition to planning and coordinating a number of international health economic assessments, she has implemented international surveys and multi-national evaluations of epidemiological and health and social service resources. With a keen interest in observational studies of actual practice, Ms. Payne has designed and conducted prospective and retrospective data collection projects in more than eight countries.
The results of Ms. Payne’s work have been presented at various scientific meetings and she has authored and co-authored several published manuscripts in a variety of peer-reviewed journals, including Transfusion, The European Journal of Hospital Pharmacy-Science, Expert Review of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research, PharmacoEconomics, Canadian Journal of Psychiatry, Disease Management and Health Outcomes, Clinical Therapeutics, Advances in Therapy, and the International Journal of Clinical Practice.
Ms. Payne received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada and her Master’s degree in Psychology from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
