L. Clark Paramore

L. Clark Paramore, M.S.P.H. is Executive Director of the Center for Health Economics, Epidemiology and Science Policy (CHEP) for United BioSource Corporation (UBC). In this capacity, Mr. Paramore is responsible for over-seeing the scientific, strategic and operational performance of each business line within CHEP, including health economics, systematic literature reviews and meta-analyses, epidemiology and database services, and science policy initiatives. Mr. Paramore also holds the position of Managing Director of UBC's Boston office.

Mr. Paramore received his Master's degree in health policy from the School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his undergraduate degree in public policy from Duke University. As a Research Scientist within CHEP, Mr. Paramore conducts retrospective database analyses to examine treatment patterns and cost of illness for various conditions, including depression, asthma, allergic rhinitis and hypertension. Mr. Paramore also prepares economic dossiers of new products for submission to managed care formularies and other payers.

Mr. Paramore has extensive experience with nationally representative data sets, including the NMES, MEPS, NHIS, HCUP, NAMCS, CPS, and the MCBS. His articles have appeared in International Journal of Technology Assessment in Health Care, American Journal of Managed Care, American Journal of Public Health, Journal of Pain and Symptom Management, and Value in Health. Prior to joining UBC's Center for Health Economics and Policy, Mr. Paramore was a Health Policy Analyst with Project Hope, a Washington area health services research firm. His projects focused on the economic impact of new information technologies, access to health care for various population subgroups, and the impact of managed care on the health delivery system.
