Senior Vice President, Information Technology

Before joining UBC, Mr. Morgan spent five years at Covance, where he served as Vice President of Information Technology for their periapproval, clinical and IVRS businesses.
Previously, he worked with Nycomed, a Norwegian diagnostic imaging company, to participate in the startup of their US R&D operations. While there, he directed the infrastructure and software development efforts for Nycomed and created their first web-based applications in support of Nycomed’s discovery through phase IV efforts.
In 1988, Mr. Morgan became the 49th employee of Eastman Pharmaceutical, where he started their clinical information technology department. After Kodak’s acquisition of Sterling Winthrop, he continued to direct the clinical information technology department and led their first Computer-Assisted New Drug Application (CANDA) efforts. He then went on to lead Sterling Winthrop’s drug development process reengineering efforts, where he was mentored by Professor John Sviokla of the Harvard Business School.
He began his career as a SAS programmer at McNeil Pharmaceutical in 1981, with reporting lines to the founder of the DIA, Thomas Teal.
