Carol Matthews is currently Senior Director, Clinical Programming at UBC. Carol has over 13 years of experience programming with SAS® in the pharmaceutical industry, primarily focusing on cardiovascular and oncology trials. She has been involved in organizing and managing programming efforts for eight Integrated Safety Summaries for inclusion in submissions to various agencies.
Carol has been an adjunct faculty member in Philadelphia University’s SAS Programming certification program since 1998, has presented two audio conferences through FDA News, has taught numerous seminars on validation and effective clinical programming practices, and is currently an adjunct faculty member with the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Drexel University School of Public Health in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She has also co-authored one of the first books on using SAS to effectively validate data and output for clinical trials programming, titled Validating Clinical Trial Data Reporting with SAS®.
Carol received her undergraduate degree at The College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College) in Psychology.
