Nancy Kline Leidy, PhD brings to UBC’s clients 25 years of experience in clinical and health outcomes research, specializing in instrument development, psychometric testing and the design and analysis of clinical trial and observational studies involving a variety of clinical and patient-reported outcomes.
Prior to joining UBC, Dr. Leidy held faculty positions at major universities and was an intramural scientist at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) where she studied performance variation and structure in people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She has presented her work at conferences internationally and has over 75 publications appearing in peer-reviewed journals such as the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Chest, Journal of COPD, European Respiratory Review, PharmacoEconomics, Value in Healthand Quality of Life Research.
Dr. Leidy is currently principal investigator of the EXACT-PRO Initiative (EXAcerbations of Chronic pulmonary disease Tool), a multi-sponsor project bringing together clinical, methodological and measurement experts and members of the FDA to develop a standardized patient-reported outcome measure for evaluating exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University, Master’s degree from the University of Washington, and PhD from The University of Michigan.
