Leah Kleinman, DrPH, is responsible for instrument development and validation as well as designing and managing research studies focused on patient- reported outcomes.
Experienced in research design and methodology with an emphasis in clinical and program evaluation, Dr. Kleinman has designed and conducted outcome studies in a variety of settings, including clinical trials, managed care organizations, and primary and specialty outpatient clinics. In addition, she has a strong background in the design and implementation of patient outcome instruments in the areas of health care utilization, quality of life, utility assessment and symptom assessment.
Current research activities include quality of life issues in mental illness, validation of patient outcome instruments (e.g., patient satisfaction, quality of life and symptom assessment and health economic studies). Her work has appeared in multiple journals including Quality of Life Research, Archives of Internal Medicine, Medical Care, and Digestive Diseases and Sciences.
Dr. Kleinman received her Doctorate in Health Policy and Management with a specialization in health services research from the Johns Hopkins University.
