Ruth E. Brown
Ruth E. Brown, M.S., M.H.S.A. is a Senior Research Scientist and the Director of United BioSource Corporation's (UBC) Health Care Analytics Group - Europe . Ms. Brown has more than 18 years experience in the biomedical field including her 10 years with MEDTAP. Ms. Brown has extensive experience with cost-effectiveness studies of disease interventions such as strategies to eliminate hepatitis B, cost effectiveness of childhood immunisations, cost effectiveness of programs to encourage bicycle helmet use among children and cost effectiveness of many pharmaceuticals. She has developed analytic models in the areas of depression, schizophrenia, kidney transplantation, prostate cancer, asthma, hypertension and arthritis. Ms. Brown has been the principal investigator for projects determining the use of technology assessment by decision-makers in hospitals, HMOs and third party payers; developing options for reducing the volume of unnecessary medical procedures among the Medicare population; estimating the burden of infectious diseases, conducting economic analyses of clinical trials, and estimating the impact of behaviour changes and advances in medical care and pharmaceuticals on the burden of disease in the U.S. and selected European countries. |
