Ruth Brown directs the biostatistics, data management and custom software solutions, health care data capture and library services that support UBC scientific projects.  In her role, she is responsible for the overall performance of these service areas, including quality of performance, monitoring milestones, timeliness, problem solving and key client projects.  Ms. Brown has expertise in cost effectiveness and cost utility studies, global value dossier preparation, conducting European pricing and reimbursement studies and advising on product value messaging and strategic decision making.  In addition, she manages the European Health Care Analytics staff. 

Ms. Brown has conducted research in such wide-ranging therapeutic areas as oncology, cardiology, neurology, musculoskeletal, gastro-intestinal, infectious diseases, metabolic diseases, respiratory and mental health.  She has also conducted burden of illness, cost-effectiveness and budget impact analyses for European countries.

Published in numerous journals, Ms. Brown has authored and co-authored articles appearing in International Journal of Technology Assessment in Health Care, PharmacoEconomics, Quality of Life Research, Journal of the American Medical Association, Journal of Clinical Epidemiology, British Journal of Psychiatry and others.

Ms. Brown received her Master of Science degree in Microbiology from Oregon State University and her Master of Health Services Administration degree from George Washington University.
