Joseph Abdalla leads UBC’s efforts to provide marketing support services and other strategic solutions to the healthcare marketplace.

Before joining UBC, Mr. Abdalla was a member of the senior management of HealthSTAR Communications Inc. He was appointed as Group President of the HealthSTAR Promotional Group in late 2004, with responsibility for the integration and overall P&L performance of the unit. In January 2003, he joined the SCS Healthcare Marketing, Inc. division of HealthSTAR Communications as Chief Operating Officer, leading the commercial effort and managing the day-to-day operations of the company.

Previously, he spent over 13 years at GlaxoSmithKline in numerous sales and marketing positions of increasing responsibility – starting as a Hospital Sales Representative, becoming District Sales Manager and later Regional Vice President, directing sales teams during over ten new product launches in eight therapeutic categories.

As Associate Sales Training Manager for the launch of the Cerenex Division, Mr. Abdalla directed new representative training for oncology products and ZOFRAN®.In his marketing roles, he handled professional promotion , direct-to-consumer/direct-to-physician promotions, customer business segments and strategic planning for such major company brands as IMITREX®, FLOVENT and ADVAIR, where he served as Associate Product Manager, Senior Product Manager and Director of Marketing, ADVAIR® respectively.

A Registered Pharmacist, he is a guest lecturer for the UNC School of pharmacy and serves on the Board of Visitors.

Mr. Abdalla holds a BS in Pharmacy from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Masters in Business Administration from Campbell University.
